PURPOSE:To obtain the title polymer for packing having a specific molecular structure, molecular weight and structure containing mm of triad level by <13>C-NMR as a main component and having high stereoregularity, small compression permanent strain of crosslinked product and excellent vibration-damping properties. CONSTITUTION:>=6C Straight-chain alpha-olefin (e.g., hexene-1) is polymerized in n-hexane using a catalyst obtained by blending a titanium catalyst slurry prepared by reacting magnesium chloride with ethyl benzoate and titanium tetrachloride in n-hexane with tributylaluminum to provide the aimed polymer having a structural unit expressed by the formula (n is 3-17), 100,000-500,000 number average molecular weight expressed in terms of polystyrene and 1,000,000-7,000,000 weight average molecular weight expressed in terms of polystyrene and being 85-99% in ratio of mm to sum of mm, mr and rr by attribution of triad level by <13>C-NMR. |
