<p>PURPOSE:To keep freshness of garden crop in a long period of time by effectively and continuously decomposing ethylene or acetaldehyde by subjecting atmospheric gas of garden crop into contact with semiconductor having specific forbidden band width in irradiation of ultraviolet light. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor having 0.5-5eV forbidden band (preferably tungsten trioxide, etc.) and preferably 1-100mmu particle diameter is carried by a carrier such as porous film and set for instance, around a light source of preferably ultraviolet light of 400-200nm, then said system is subjected to contact with atmospheric gas of garden crop and irradiated the ultraviolet light to decompose ethylene, etc.</p> |
