PURPOSE:To obtain the subject coating, good in dispersibility, excellent in smoothness and capable of providing dense and tough thick films by adding a specific fatty acid ester to an oxide superconductive fine powder. CONSTITUTION:Y2O3 is mixed with BaCO3 and CuO so as to provide about 1:2:3 element ratio of Y:Ba:Cu and the resultant mixture is then calcined at about 900 deg.C for about 5hr in an oxidizing atmosphere and subsequently pulverized to afford (A) an oxide superconducting fine powder having <=1mum average particle diameter. (B) A fatty acid ester (e.g., hexyl laurate) consisting of a 6-18C monobasic fatty acid and a 3-12C monohydric alcohol in an amount of 0.1-1.0 pts.wt. and (C) a mixed solvent consisting of a hydrocarbon solvent and binder in an amount of 0-1.0 pt.wt. are then added and mixed with 100 pts.wt. component (A) to provide a coating for oxide superconductive thick films. The resultant coating is subsequently applied to a substrate, dried and calcined at about 900 deg.C for about 1hr and further subjected to annealing treatment at about 800 deg.C for about 3hr to form an oxide superconductor film. |
