PURPOSE:To make it possible to read a color image with an IR reader by incorporating a specified IR-absorbing image forming compd. CONSTITUTION:A layer contg. an IR-absorbing image forming compd. represented by formula I and one of yellow, magenta and cyan image forming compds. or layers contg. the compds. separately are formed on a support. In the formula I, dye is an IR-absorbingh dye group (precursor) represented by formula II, X is a single bond or a combining group, Y is a group having properties by which a difference is produced in the diffusibility of a dye component before and after the reaction with a photosensitive silver salt having a latent image, each of R<1> and R<2> is H, halogen, etc., Ar is aryl or a hetero ring and each of m and n is 0-4.
