Device for storing and serving food (chafing dish). Known devices of this type use a lid which can be locked in various positions by means of inserted pins. However, this requires complicated and awkward manipulations. In order to make the handling of the lid simpler, the new device comprises a friction brake with a braking force increasing in the opening direction.
