The tandem pneumatic or hydraulic ram has a housing (1) with ports (11-14) acting as inlets and outlets for the operating medium. It has a first expansion chamber in which a piston (10) with a first annular pressure face works. A column (5) extends upwards from the housing bottom (3). The piston is mounted at the open end of an inverted cup-shaped component (6), the inner surface of whose top (7) forms a second pressure face. USE/ADVANTAGE - Increased power as compared with single ram without increase in dimensions or working pressure.
