A cable for data and signal communication under conditions of high mechanical stress (excavators, overhead travelling cranes, belt conveyors) which meets all conditions for power cables uses instead of optical fibres the stranded copper conductors (1) with an insulation (2) of crosslinked polyethylene, stranded in pairs (3). A protective earth wire (4) has the same insulation. A heat insulating core winding (5) is made of PETP foil and a fibre mat band of polyacrylate or polyester fibres. The outer sheath (8) is a vulcanised rubber mix on the basis of chloroprene. ADVANTAGE - The vulcanised rubber mixes have against PVC and PE the advantage of their resistance against welding beads, of being more flexible and more repair-friendly.
