Method for producing electrical film capacitors

A method for producing electrical film capacitors as well as a film capacitor in which a master capacitor stack composed of one or more master capacitor rings is wound on a winding core in the form of a ring, both end surfaces of the master capacitor stack are metal-sprayed, the master capacitor stack is heat treated and is subsequently cut through radially, after which the master capacitor rings which have been separated in this way are removed from the winding core. In order to achieve a welded or soldered joint which is as good as possible between the connecting wires and/or connecting fittings of the capacitor and its metal-sprayed layers, the oxide layers which form on the metal-sprayed layers during the temperature treatment are removed by a machining operation, preferably being knurled away, after the removal of the separated master capacitor rings from the winding core.
