The invention relates to a child safety seat for bracing against a seat-belt system in motor vehicles. The safety seat comprises an underframe which is to be supported by the motor-vehicle seat belt and a seat shell which is to be inserted into the underframe in a locking and latching manner and is intended for the child to be transported, the seat shell having an integrated belt. The intention is to facilitate handling when inserting and removing the seat shell from the underframe and to simplify the construction of the locking device. For this purpose, it is envisaged that the seat shell (11) has a tongue-like holder (18) which plunges in the insertion direction into the underframe (10) and which has a locking opening (19) and that, in each case in symmetrical arrangement with this holder the underframe (10) has a latch (20) which is spring-loaded (23) into the locking position, is assigned to the locking opening (19) of the holder (18) and can be actuated via an actuating element (24, 40). <IMAGE>
