PURPOSE:To attain a release action in which the intention of a photographer is respected as much as possible by operating a release without operating a release inhibition when a lens driving stop is operated in an automatic focus control mode which inhibits the release until focused. CONSTITUTION:A lens is driven so as to bring a subject into focus by the result of the decision of out-of-focus or in-focus by a focus detecting means M1 and a release inhibiting means 4 inhibits the release until the subject is brought into focus by this lens driving even though a release switch RSW is operated to release a shutter. When, however, an operator operates a lens driving stop operating means M5 to stop the lens driving, the release inhibiting means M4 is not operated and the action of a releasing means M3 is permitted. Thus, by operating the release switch RSW at an arbitrary point of time, the operator can release the shutter. |
