<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an absorbent having high absorptivity for gaseous CO2 without being influenced by moisture by using at least one kind selected from chlorates, chlorites, and hypochlorites. CONSTITUTION:A chlorate, chlorite, or hypochlorite is mixed uniformly with a carrier such as natural zeolite, synthetic zeolite, or silica-alumina, and the mixture is calcined in the air at 200-700 deg.C to obtain thus an absorbent compsn. for gaseous CO2. The absorbent has high capacity for absorbing gaseous CO2 without being restricted by using conditions such as presence of moisture, etc. Accordingly, the absorbent is applicable widely to uses for removing gaseous CO2 in gaseous phase, for example, for the removal of gaseous CO2 in a life- support, removal of gaseous CO2 from satellites, seabed railways, etc., or from gaseous products of chemical industries, etc.</p> |
