The invention relates to a measuring spring with upper and lower clamp, especially for personal weighing machines, in which one clamp is designed as an adjustable cap which can be rotated away with reference to the measuring spring, in which cap a recess is provided which has a section having the same slope as the measuring spring. In order to obtain an effective length of the measuring spring which is constant with loading, a recess having a section having the same slope as that of the measuring spring is also provided in the other clamp and a measuring spring open at both ends is provided between the two clamps.
