<p>An exhaust gas driven turbocharger (10) is provided with a single pneumatic actuator (62, 56, 59, 60) which controls both a pivoting vane (44) which varies the flow area or aspect ratio of the exhaust gas inlet passage to the turbine (16), and also controls the wastegate valve (38, 40, 42). A linkage mechanism including a preloaded spring (98) and a bellcrank lever (76) actuates levers controlling the wastegate valve (38, 40, 42) and the pivoting vane (44).</p> |
