摘要 PURPOSE:To promptly detect a fault in an optical transmitter by giving a function to output alarm information from the optical transmitter to an ordinary-use communication line and output quality information to a preliminary communication line and another function to output the alarm information to the preliminary communication line when the ordinary-use communication line is not used to a slave supervision and control equipment. CONSTITUTION:A slave supervision and control equipment 4 can output the alarm information from an optical transmitter 1 to the above-mentioned ordinary-use communication line 2 and output the quality information to a preliminary communication line 3, and when the ordinary-use communication line 2 is not used, the equipment 4 outputs the above-mentioned alarm information to the above-mentioned preliminary communication line 3. A slave supervision and control equipment 4(k) (1<=k<=n) is equipped with a major function part 7, an alarm information collecting part 8 and a quality information collecting part 9 provided for this major function part 7, a switching part 10 for executing the switching of the input of alarm information ak, and an ordinary-use communication line switching part 11 to link to the major function part 7 and control the switching part 10. A hot supervision and control equipment 5 can collect the alarm information from the slave supervision and control equipment 4(k) regardless of the existence of the quality information and promptly detect a critical fault in the optical transmitter.
