PURPOSE:To obtain a plane type display of optional size, which is capable of storing a picture or a signal pattern without using an electric power supply, by laminating an electro-chromic layer, a solid electrolytic film and an optical electromotive force film in order. CONSTITUTION:On a glass substrate whose surface has been covered with a transparent conductive film, an electro-chromic film (EC film) 1 of 1mum thickness is formed by executing high frequency spatter vapor-deposition in an oxygen atmosphere which has used a target of tungsten oxide. A solid electrolytic film 2 is formed by executing high frequency spatter vapor-deposition of lithium niobate in the same way. On this film CdTe is vapor-deposited in the diagonal direction, and an optical electromotive force film 3 is formed. Electrodes 4, 5 are provided, and a laser light of about 0.1W is irradiated in a state that the same potential has been held. As for a contrast ratio in case when laser light of 0.1W has been irradiated for 0.5sec, a ratio of 1:2.5 is obtained, and is held more than 200hr. |
