RECOGNIZING METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC PARTS

PURPOSE:To recognize the shape of an electronic parts with no influence of a sucking nozzle by irradiating the sucked electronic parts with the slit light having a fixed tilt angle from the oblique lower side and at the same time scanning the slit image of the parts. CONSTITUTION:An electronic parts 11 which is sucked by a sucking nozzle 13 and turned in the prescribed direction is irradiated with the slit light having a tilt angle alpha via an illumination device 22 from the oblique lower side. At the same time, the slit images 33a and 33b of the parts 11 are recognized through a camera 20. Under such conditions, the device 22 is moved and the image 33a is scanned by the camera 20. Thus the lower surface contour of the parts 11 can be recognized via an inflection point 33c. Thus it is possible to accurately recognize the planar shape of the parts 11 regardless of the presence or absence of the protrusion of the parts 11. Furthermore the accurate position of the parts 11 can be recognized based on the recognition of said shape of the parts 11.
