PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of troubles due to lag in ignition by judging lag in a rotating angle sensor depending on the result of knock detection, and thereby letting correction be made to a reference ignition timing by that much by a sensor lag response ignition timing correction means when the detection is judged to have been lagged. CONSTITUTION:It is judged by a sensor lag judging means B based on the result of knock detection by a knock detection means A whether or not the output signal from a rotation angle sensor C is abnormally lagged. And when the detection is judged to have been lagged, correction is made to a reference ignition timing by that much by a sensor lag response ignition timing correction means D. And when it is detected by a sensor lag judging means B that knocking has taken place in a state that the learning value of a lag angular value is equal to or more than the maximum guard value, the detection is judged to have been lagged to a lead angle side. On the contrary, when no knocking has taken place in a state that the learning value of the lag angular value is less than the specified one, the detection is judged to have been lagged to a lag angle side. By this constitution, even if the output signal from the rotation angle sensor C is found to have been lagged, the occurrence of pre-ignition and secondary failures can thereby be prevented. |
