Adjusting device on a vehicle sliding head liner (1) which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle underneath a panel which closes a roof opening and can be set back upwards out of the closed position. The adjusting device has a slide (5) which can be displaced in a longitudinal guide on the roof and to which a pivoted lever (3) is pivotably attached. Protruding from the pivoted lever (3) in parallel to the pivoting spindle (4) thereof is a pin (6) which engages in a guide (8) fixed on the roof. The guide (8) extends in a manner such that when the panel is being set back and pivoted in, the pivoted lever (3) is situated in a coupling pivoting position in which it is connected positively to the sliding head liner (1). As the panel is being set back the sliding head liner (1) is forcibly shifted back a small distance by the adjusting device so that a roof-ventilation gap is formed. <IMAGE>
