Electrical switching apparatus

In the case of known electrical switching apparatuses, various components are inserted into a common housing and are operatively connected to one another. The replacement of a component which has a different shape or size is in this case impossible. A novel electrical switching apparatus has a housing with integrally formed retaining ribs, guide pins and/or housing recesses which are prepared for retention and guidance and can be adapted to match the shape and size of the component provided for insertion. As an alternative, an adaptor component can be used which compensates for the differences in shape and size. The use of the novel switching apparatus is particularly advantageous in residual current devices and other service apparatuses. <IMAGE>
