<p>Improved means are provided for obtaining enhanced production of proteins encoded by structural genes of interest in a host based on transfecting the host with an expression vector comprising a wild-type amplifiable gene and the predetermined structural gene. The host is typically not complemented by the amplifiable gene product. If desired, another selection marker may be utilized to select a desired population of cells prior to the amplification.</p> |
