发明名称 PERPENDICULAR MAGNETIC RECORDING HEAD
摘要 PURPOSE:To realize a perpendicular magnetic recording head with an excellent overwriting characteristic and capable of high density information recording and reproducing by using a composite film consisting of a first film which is high in saturation magnetic flux density and low in magnetic permeability, and a second film which is low in saturation magnetic flux density and high in magnetic permeability and is thinner than the first film, as a main magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:When A current is flowed to a coil 6 and an exciting core 10 is excited, flux 7 constitutes a closed magnetic circuit passing from a main magnetic pole 4 through a high magnetic permeability magnetic layer 3 of a recording medium 1. Then, for a second film 9 which is low in saturation magnetic flux density of the main magnetic pole 4, the flux is saturated, the flux is concentrated to a first film 8 which is high in saturation magnetic flux density, and the first film 8 acts as the main magnetic pole for recording. On reproducing, the flux outputted from a magnetic layer 2 of the magnetic recording medium 1 is concentrated to the second film 9 which is high in permeability to constitutes the closed magnetic circuit. That is, on recording, the first film 8 whose film thickness is thick functions, a good overwriting characteristic is obtained, on reproducing, the second film 9 of which film thickness is thin functions, and high-density-recorded information can be reproduced.
