PURPOSE:To make a whole socket small-sized and low in height by providing multiple contact pieces arranged on a socket main body and a movable presser member connected to the socket main body. CONSTITUTION:A socket is provided with a socket main body 10 made of an insulating material such as plastic, multiple contact pieces 20 arranged on this socket main body 10, and a movable presser member 30 made of an insulating material such as plastic and connected to the socket main body 10. Each contact piece 20 is folded at the nearly U-shaped first folded section 21, a contact section 23 protruded upward from a contact piece holding groove 13 in contact with a lead 42 corresponding to an electronic component 40 when it is arranged in the contact piece holding groove 13 of the socket main body 10 is formed on the upper end side extended outward. The movable presser member 30 is a nearly rectangular frame, an opening 31 is provided at its center so as to receive the electronic component 40. The socket is made simple in structure, small-sized, and highly dense.
