PURPOSE:To provide the title fiber of significantly high durable hydrophilicity capable of giving nonwoven fabrics or sheets with excellent durable hydrophilicity through thermal adhesion to e.g., polyester fibers, made up of a specific noncrystalline polyester as a sheath component and a thermoplastic polymer as a core component. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a noncrystalline polyester 50-90 deg.C in glass transition temperature and 0cal/g in crystal heat of fusion, containing (A) 0.2-10wt.% of high molecular weight polyoxyalkylene glycol and (B) 0.1-5wt.% of an alkali metal sulfonate derivative, made up of (C) >=40mol% of terephthalic acid, (D) 20-60mol% of isophthalic acid and (E) >=75mol% of ethylene glycol, is synthesized. Thence, a conjugate spinning is made with the polyester as a sheath component and a thermoplastic polymer >=150 deg.C in melting point as a core component so as to be (20:80)-(80:20) in the weight ratio sheath/core, thus obtaining the objective fiber. |
