PURPOSE:To prevent the leak of a magnetic particle and the fusion of a toner by specifying a gap between a developer regulating member and a developer carrier. CONSTITUTION:The gap at an upstream side to the rotating direction of a developer carrier 3 formed of a developer regulating member 6 and the developer carrier 3 is formed in the magnetic field range of a magnetic pole arranged at the upstream side of an abutting part with the developer carrier 3 in a magnetic field generating means. A magnetic particle 10 is attracted and held onto the surface of the carrier 3 by the magnetic forces of magnetic poles 9a and 9b arranged at the upstream side to the rotating direction of the carrier 3 of an abutting part T of the developer carrier 3 and developer regulating member 6 of the magnetic field generating means and carried along with the rotation drive of the carrier 3. Further, the magnetic particle 10 is circulated in a direction reverse to the rotating direction of the carrier 3 by the restraint of the developer regulating member 6. At such a time, a toner particle 4 to adhere to the magnetic particle 10 is scraped away, and only the toner particle 4 is made to adhere onto the surface of the carrier 3. Thus, the leak of the magnetic particle and the fusion of the toner can be prevented. |
