PURPOSE: To provide a composition for an oral space having an excellent desensitizing action for a tooth, containing a desensitization agent and a granular polishing agent. CONSTITUTION: This composition for an oral space contains 1-10wt.% of a potassium and/or a strontium ion source as a desensitization agent and 1-50wt.% of hydroxyapatite having 1-15μm average particle diameter or a synthetic hydroxyapatite containing <=92wt.% of Ca10 (PO4 )6 (OH)2 as a granular polishing agent. The composition is prepared by mixing with suitable amounts of usual components such as a humectant, a binder, a thickener, a surfactant or a deodorant, other than both of the above essential components. A dental caries is prevented by applying the composition for an oral space to teeth with brushing, etc.
