<p>The present invention provides a two-platen type mold clamper which eliminates the necessity of a tie bar and a rear platen, hence requires a reduced number of components and is easy to maintain and economical. A plurality of ball nuts (50), which are able to rotate relative to a movable platen but not able to move in an axial direction relative to the same are fitted to the movable platen (30) which is disposed in such a manner as to be capable of reciprocating relative to a fixed platen (20). A plurality of ball screws (40) are meshed with these ball nuts, respectively. One of the ends of each ball screw (40) is fixed to the fixed platen. With the rotation of a motor (70), the ball nuts connected to the motor through sprockets (61, 63) and a chain (65) are rotated and the ball nuts and the movable platen move towards the fixed platen. The ball screws extend after mold touch and generate mold clamping force.</p> |
