PURPOSE:To reduce the sizes of a case and an engine by a method wherein the case of a trochoidal pump is mounted to the end surface of an engine block and a bowl-shaped pulley is mounted on a drive shaft in a manner to cover the case and caused to approach the engine block. CONSTITUTION:With an engine run, an inner gear 2 is rotated through a timing belt 11 and a pulley 10 by means of a drive shaft 4. In which case, an outer gear 2 follows an outer gear 3 for rotation, a pump action is effected through the change in volume of the outer gear 3, and lubricating oil is fed with a pressure to each part of the engine. In this case, the flow of lubricating oil leaking along the drive shaft 4 is stopped by an oil seal 5, and the lubricating oil flows through a lateral hole 7 and a core hole 6 of the drive shaft 4 to the interior of an engine block 8. Thus, the size of a pump case 1 can be decreased. The pulley 10 has its inside formed in the shape of a bowl and is connected to the drive shaft 4 in a manner to cover the pump case 1, and is caused to approach the engine block 8. |
