Control system for a circulating water heater, having a heat exchanger fed by a burner, a branch possessing a heating element, and a branch possessing a domestic water heater, which are both connectable to the heat exchanger via a priority switch-over valve, the priority switch-over valve having a rest position defined by a restoring force and being equipped with temperature setpoint generators for selecting a heating and domestic hot water temperature. The rest position of the priority switch-over valve (10) is variable and is switched over depending on whether reheating of the domestic water heater (24) is required or not, and as temperature setpoint for the heating of water, depending on the rest position of the priority switch-over valve, either the setpoint (HZ/39) alone or the higher of the two setpoints (HZ/39) and (WST/40) is selected. <IMAGE>
