<p>PURPOSE:To reduce compression power loss due to leakage of refrigerant gas by making an elongated hole having the width in the direction perpendicular to a fixed scroll spiral protrusion shorter than the width of a rolling scroll spiral protrusion and having the area larger than that of a fluid bypass hole through a thin board arranged on the bottom face of a compression chamber in a fixed scroll. CONSTITUTION:An elongated hole 31 is made through a thin board 30 arranged on the bottom face of the compression chamber of a fixed scroll 1. The width W of the elongated hole 31 in the direction perpendicular to a fixed scroll spiral protrusion 1b is set narrower than the width of a rolling scroll spiral protrusion 2b, and the length l of the elongated hole 31 in the direction parallel with the spiral protrusion 1b is set such that W.l>=0.25.pi.d<2>, where (d) is the diameter of a fluid bypass hole 14. By such arrangement, an outside compression chamber 52 is not communicated through the elongated hole 31 with an inside compression chamber 51 in the direction of the width of the spiral protrusion 2b, and compressed refrigerant gas does not leak from the inside compression chamber 51 to the outside compression chamber 52 during maximum capacity operation. Consequently, the refrigerant gas is not re- compressed resulting in suppression of power loss.</p> |
