PURPOSE:To suppress the deformation of a corrugated board like strip material at the time of processing by superposing flat plate like strips and corrugated board like strips composed of a thin steel strip in an alternate contact state and molding the same into a vortex or laminar shape to provide large number of reticulated vent hole passages in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:Flat plate like metal strip materials 3 and corrugated board like metal strip materials 4 are collectively wound into a vortex shape so as to have mutual contact regions to form a honeycomb core body 2. In a separate method, the flat plate like metal strip materials 3' and the corrugated board like metal strip materials 4' are laminated in a laminar shape to form the honeycomb body 2'. Further, in these honeycomb core bodies 2, 2', a large number of reticulated vent hole passages 5, 5' are provided in the axial direction. Next, the honeycomb core bodies 2, 2' are received in cylindrical metal cases 6, 6' under pressure to form metal carrier matrice 1, 1'. The flat plate like metal strip materials 3, 3' and the corrugated board like metal strip materials 4, 4' are molded using an inexpensive steel material easy to roll. |
