The subject of the present invention is a method and a device for manufacturing padded articles especiallly automobile seats or furniture, in which reactants generating an expanded foam are injected into a mould which comprises at least two parts 1, 2 and in that the foam is allowed to expand in such a way that it adopts the shape of the mould and is characterised in that the said reactants are introduced in the liquid state via the bottom 2 of the mould in such a way that the expansion of the foam being formed develops laterally and from the bottom up and in that an air vent 1b is created in the upper part of the mould in order either to allow the air contained in the mould during the expansion of the foam to escape or to connect the said air vent to vacuum means in order to promote the expansion of the foam in the mould; the method makes it possible to obtain, in particular, so-called integral-cover 20 articles. <IMAGE>
