Amino-acid derivatives of the formula I R<1>-Z-NR<2>-CHR<3>-CR<4>-CH2-CR<5>-R<6>-Y I in which R<1> to R<6>, Z, and Y have the meanings indicated in Claim 1, and the salts thereof inhibit the activity of human plasma renin.
