PURPOSE:To effectively prevent the reduction of the life of a crankshaft bearing even in the use in the environment containing salts, etc. by installing a sealing member for sealing the inside of the bearing, onto the bearing for crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:A bearing 42 is a ball bearing having a plurality of balls 48 between an inner race 44 and outer race 46, and the inside of the bearing is sealed from outside by the sealing members 50 installed on the upper and lower sides. Each sealing member 50 is formed by covering a reinforcing core metal 52 with a synthetic rubber 54 or plastics, and an arrow-shaped lip 56 is formed integrally on the inner periphery of the synthetic rubber 54. Further, each step part 58 is formed at the upper and lower edge parts of the inner surface of the inner race 44, and a packing 60 having an L-shaped section is arranged at the step part 58. The sealing member 50 is installed between the both races 44 and 46, in the state where the lip 56 of the sealing member 50 is press- attached onto the inside of the packing 60 and the surface of the step part 58 of the inner race 44, and an oil seal is formed. |
