PURPOSE:To properly use a normal television signal and the broad band signal of a high vision picture, etc., with a single rotary magnetic head device, and to record them by making variable the number of revolutions of an upper drum according to the number of the revolutions of the rotary magnetic head part. CONSTITUTION:An upper drum 1 and a lower drum 7 to guide the running of a magnetic tape, a rotary magnetic head part 5, which is positioned between the upper drum 1 and the lower drum 7 and can made variable the number of the revolutions, and a means to change the number of revolutions of the upper drum 1 are provided. Consequently, by the same rotary magnetic head device, the number of the revolutions of the upper drum 1 can be changed according to the number of the revolutions of the rotary magnetic head part 5. Thus, even when the magnetic head part 5 is used by changing the number of the revolutions, the floating quantity of the magnetic tape can be always made constant, and recording/reproduction by means of the stable magnetic head is attained. |
