A track circuit for a railway that includes a portion of railway bounded at each end by a set of three dipoles, each one connected between the two rails a small distance apart. The impedance obtained at the terminals of the central dipole of each set is greater for the frequency of the energising current in the track circuit and the adjacent circuits. The transmitter of the track circuit and the receiver of the adjacent track circuit are connected to the terminals of the central dipole of one of the end sets of the track circuit while the receiver of the track circuit and the transmitter of the adjacent circuit are connected to the terminals of the central dipole of the other end set. <IMAGE>
