PURPOSE:To enable calling cards to be taken care of easily and pluralistically by inserting a calling card into a feeding-in port of a calling card feeding means of a calling card data reading means, and reading the data written on the card as image data. CONSTITUTION:A calling card N from which data is to be read is inserted into a feeding-in port 3, with the surface to be read of the card N directed downward, is guided by a guide plate 11, and is fed through a calling card feeding passage 10 in the direction of an arrow (a) while being clamped between rollers 61, 62. When the leading end of the card N reaches a switch 35, a CCD 30 is driven by operating a CCD-driving circuit 31 to start reading the data on the card N, and the calling card data thus read by the CCD 30 is stored as image data into an image memory 34. Next, index data according to the card data read from the image memory 34 of a calling card data reading means A is added to the card data, and the card data and the index data are stored as a set of data into an external storage means 82. |
