Elastomeric gloves with a better fit are produced by injection moulding into a two-part tool with cores forming the fingers and thumb. Positioning of the finger cavities on successively higher planes and the thumb cavity on a similar plane to the small finger produces a more natural product shape. Angles produced by the hand surface relative to the tool separation direction and also by the contact line between thumb and index finger and the continuation of the hand surface are specified. USE/ADVANTAGE - Production speed is faster than with dip coating and a more accurate overall product thickness is obtained. A better fit is obtained due to less folding of excess material between finger and thumb.
