PURPOSE: To produce the powdery microencapsulated platinum compd. by spraying an aq. dispersion of the microcapsule obtained by precipitating a polymer from an emulsion containing a thermoplastic org. polymer and the platinum compd. and incorporating a formed droplet in a heated gas stream. CONSTITUTION: The emulsion containing a continuous phase containing the first liquid and a surfactant and a discontinuous phase containing the second liquid immiscible with the first liquid a compd. of platinum group metal and a thermoplastic org. polymer of which weight is equal to the weight of said compd. is formed. Then the dispersion in which the microencapsulated platinum group metal is dispersed in the first liquid is obtained by evaporating the second fluid to precipitate said polymer. The dispersion is atomized and entrained to a high velocity gas stream to expose to the gas stream, and the microencapsulated platinum group metal compd. is recovered as the homogeneous and smooth powder. |
