PURPOSE:To display a constant point pattern without applying a voltage at all times by forming no orienting film in the internal surface area of a substrate corresponding to the specific constant point pattern. CONSTITUTION:Orienting films 13 and 14 are formed except in internal surface areas 12 of substrates 11 corresponding to the specific constant point pattern 18. The vertical orienting films 13 and 14 are formed only in the internal areas of the substrates 11 except the areas 12 corresponding to the constant point pattern 18. Consequently, liquid crystal molecules and pigment molecules are arrayed in a homogeneous state in the areas of the constant point pattern 18, so the constant point pattern 18 is displayed without being fed with electricity, a lead-out electrode for the constant point pattern 18 need not be provided, and the manufacture cost and running cost are reducible. |
