PURPOSE:To improve image quality and to accelerate image formation by constituting a device so that plural transfer materials are electrostatically attracted to a transfer material carrier, and can be carried, transferred and separated. CONSTITUTION:A transfer device 30 includes a transfer material attracting means 50 which attracts the transfer material P fed to the device 30 and holds it to a transfer material carrier sheet 34. Moreover, a transfer material detecting sensor 63 is provided downstream of the attracting means 50, detects the position of the transfer material P, and forms a latent image on a photosensitive drum 1, following which it develops and transfers the image. At the end of transferring, a separating and pressing outer roller 42a following the move of the transfer material P together with a separating and pressing outer roller 53 and a peeling claw 42 is butted in the transfer material carrier sheet 34 to locally decrease its curvature. The leading edge of the transfer material P is curvature- separated and is isolated by inserting the peeling claw 42 between the transfer material P and the transfer sheet 34. Thus, image quality is improved and image formation is accelerated. |
