The object of the invention is to reduce the wear of contact surfaces of a code card which is inserted into an opening of the housing and which, in the inserted position, makes contact with corresponding mating contacts. The object is achieved in that the housing (19) has an opening (20) which can be closed by means of a pivotable cover (23). The cover has guide rails (27, 28) on its inside to accommodate the code card (30). When the code card is inserted into the guide rails, the contact surfaces (33) of the code card pass into the vicinity of contact springs (37). A preferred field of application for the invention involves handsets for radiotelephones and hand-held radiotelephones. The drawing shows a side view of a handset.
