PURPOSE:To enable an ideal stratification by providing an fuel injection hole at a position which is in advance of a trailing side seal upon a leading side seal passing over a spark plug, but is in retard of the trailing side seal upon ignition. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection port 14 is provided at a position which is in advance of a trailing side apex seal 5b in a working chamber 19 when a leading side apex seal 5a passes over a spark plug 12a, but is in retard of the trailing side apex seal 5b during ignition of the spark plug 12a. The termination of fuel injection is set just before the trailing side apex seal 5b passing over the fuel injection port 14. With this arrangement, the travel distance of fuel spray can be reduced while the time from the fuel injection to the ignition can be shortened, it is possible to realize the ideal stratification. |
