PURPOSE:To obtain a flexible tapelike thready material having unique appearance without free withdrawing due to fringy ends by fibrillating a woven fabric formed from weft or warp yarns containing fibrillating type conjugate synthetic fibers and cutting the woven fabric in the direction to cut the above-mentioned synthetic fibers. CONSTITUTION:Weft or warp yarns containing fibrillating type conjugate synthetic fibers are woven to prepare a woven fabric, which is then subjected to chemical and/or mechanical treatment and fibrillated. The afore-mentioned woven fabric is subsequently cut in the direction to cut the above-mentioned synthetic fibers to afford a tapelike thready material having fringy cut ends. |
