Novel fluorine-containing compounds and processes for producing the same are disclosed, the compounds being represented by the general formula (I): <CHEM> wherein R<1> represents an alkyl group or an alkylvinyl group; R<2> represents a fluoroalkyl group; and Y represents a carboxyl group, a chloroformyl group, an alkoxyalkoxycarbonyl group or a hydroxymethyl group.
