PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality of a picture image to be transferred by providing a first guide means smoothly supplying a thermal head with an ink donor film and a second guide means smoothly peeling the ink donor film after transfer. CONSTITUTION:A central section crossing with a (y) axis in the lower edge 61a of a first guide surface 61 has a lowest minimum value, and both sides of the minimum value form a quadratic curve rising at the same curvature. An IDF 23 brought into contact with the lower edge 61a of the first guide surface 61 is given tension toward both sides in the cross direction of the IDF by forming the lower edge to such a shape, no crease, skew, etc. is generated, and the IDF is fed smoothly. A second guide surface 62 mounted on the winding side of the IDF 23 is set up for smoothly peeling the IDF 23 fixed to recording paper B by the heat generation of a thermal head 25. It is preferable from the viewpoint of transfer density that the IDF 23 is brought into contact with recording paper B during a time when wax in the IDF 23 is solidified and peeled at that time. |
