PURPOSE: To obtain a powdery analgesic ibuprofen preparation capable of being rapidly dissolved in saliva, having no taste, and capable of being chewably administered by dispersing ibuprofen and ethyl cellulose in a specific ratio in water containing a plasticizer and subsequently spray-drying the dispersion. CONSTITUTION: This powdery ibuprofen preparation comprises ibuprofen in an amount of approximately 63-77wt.%, preferably 63-73wt.%, based on the weight of the powdery preparation, ethyl cellulose in an amount of approximately 25-40wt.%, preferably 28-40wt.%, especially 25-35wt.%, and a plasticizer in an amount of 2-7wt.%, and is prepared by dispersing the ibuprofen and the ethyl cellulose in water containing or suspending the plasticizer, and subsequently spray-drying the dispersion. The plasticizer is suitably dibutyl sebacate or triethyl citrate. When the ibuprofen is dispersed in the suspension, a small amount of a precipitation-preventing agent is preferably used.
