<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently use picture data by adapting each quantizing level of plural color signals of a picture to the information quantity of an object. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal from a CCD 58 is inputted to gamma-correction circuits 64 to 66. The signal is switched by a signal from a control signal generating part 81 into the circuit 64 for R signal when a video is red (R) illumination, into the circuit 65 at the time of green, and into the circuit 66 at the time of blue, and is converted into the signals with individual gamma-characteristics, and the signals are digitized by A/D converters 67 to 69 by the individual quantizing levels. The digital signals are recorded in respective memories 71R, 71G, 71B, and are converted into analog signals with D/A converters 72 to 74 by the signal from the generating part 81. Afterward, only the picture signals of R, B are transferred to inverse gamma-correction circuits 75, 76, and become the same characteristic as G signal. The signals from the circuit 75, 76 and the converter 73 are outputted as R, G, B picture signals together with a synchronizing signal from the generating part 81. Thus, since the picture signal at a signal level part of large use frequency is effectively used, the picture data can be used efficiently.</p> |
