Device for joining the armours of two cables (1, 2) armoured by wires. The armour or armours are inserted at each end of a cable between conical pieces (5, 9; 6, 10), the inner piece (5, 6) being integral with a flange (7, 8) bolted to one of the two similar flanges (13, 14) which are fixed to the two ends of a flexible tubular assembly with three layers of wires. The first, inner layer (22) is helically wound. The other two (19, 20) are wound with equal inverse pitches. The diameters of the first layer and of the aperture of the two flanges allow this assembly to slide to one end above one of the cables to be coupled, stripped of its armour, and to the other above the junction of the cables.
