A floor system has skirting boards of solid timber with injection moulded corners and ends; each timber board has a groove against the wall which is shallow in comparison with its width and has a rectangular cross-section; this provides two narrow areas in the length to support the corners or ends. One of these supports run along the top and the other along the base, beneath which there is another groove with a quadrant cross-section; another narrow area is adjacent to the floor and is tapered to form a supporting edge. ADVANTAGE - The system enables ends and corners to be fitted without needing mitres, radiussing or bevelling. No special accuracy in the angles is needed. It can use the timber boards with covering if necessary.
