<p>A heart-beat rate indicator comprises a detection electrode (1) receiving an electrocardiac potential signal, circuitry (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) receiving the electrocardiac potential signal and determining therefrom a heart-beat rate and a switching element (7), for example a P-channel MOSFET, one side of which is connected to the detection electrode and an input of the circuitry and the other side of which is connected to ground potential.
